We had a good start and finish, says Evergrande coach

 

Shaoxing, China, December 8, 2019 – Guangdong Evergrande Volleyball Club routed Tianjin Bohai Bank 3-0 (28-26, 25-20, 25-21) to finish in seventh place in the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship at the Shaoxing Olympic Sports Centre on Sunday.

Guangdong Evergrande Volleyball Club coach Fan Yang: “We are happy to win this match. I think we had a good start and finish. The players enjoyed this match and I saw they were in high spirits. They were skilful and they gave us a good performance. Generally speaking, this tournament is a great opportunity for our team and we learned a lot of lessons from this.”

Guangdong Evergrande Volleyball Club captain Li Yao: “The Women’s Club World Championship was a good experience for our team. Playing against the best teams in the world taught us a lot of valuable lessons.”

Tianjin Bohai Bank Volleyball Club coach Chen Youquan: “We played against Guangdong for the second time this season and the result this time was different. We have to do more training on our attack and work on the speed and power. In this match we wanted our young players to get exposure to play. Finally, we have to train harder.”

Tianjin Bohai Bank Volleyball Club captain Zhu Ting: “This is the second time we played against Guangzhou Evergrande Volleyball Club but the team’s performance and the result were not good. We will work on this soon.”
